Lincoln Jr. High School Speech

The Speech Team is on its way to getting a great start at Lincoln this year. They have started meetings and are getting ready for their first couple of meets. Some students, such as 8th grader Briana Gantz says, “Speech last year was awesome,” and she is returning this year to be a part of it again. She made it very clear that speech was very fun last year and she would recommend it to anyone who is ready to have some fun with their friends.
The Lincoln Speech team has 6 meets all together! They travel to places like Fort Wayne, all the way to Logansport, and everywhere in between. Their meets are usually on Saturdays and they usually last most of the day. Let’s just hope everyone is well rested!
The speech team is made up of 7th and 8th grade boys and girls who enjoy having fun and love being in speech! The call outs for speech were held in Mrs. McKenzie's room on September 14. Many students came and are excited for speech to start up this year.
The Speech team's first meet is October 31 at the high school, so make sure you wish those students luck before the big meet. They are also preparing to go up against our rival school, Stanley Clark, from South Bend. Also in mid December, they have a huge meet in Indianapolis, which is also the last meet of the season. So, let’s make sure speech students, to sign up for a time to meet with your coach! Practice, practice, practice!
